3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

The 13 Apostles.
1. Peter. He was crucified upside down in Rome in 64-68 AD, just before the 2nd Temple was destroyed in 70 AD.
2. James. He was killed with a sword in 44 AD by order of King Herod Agrippa I of Judaea. The death of James is the only apostle whose death was recorded in the Bible in Acts 12:2.
3. John. John is the only disciple whose death was not recorded. John is the disciple who followed Jesus all the way to the cross. The other disciples asked Jesus about John of which Jesus replied. If he tarries until I come again, what is that to you? The disciples concluded that Jesus was saying John would not die. John was called up into the third heaven. In Revelation 10 John is told he must prophesy again before kings, nations and people. Jesus said in Matthew: 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
4. Andrew. He was crucified in 60 AD in the city Patras (Patrć) in Achaea on a cross form known as "crux decussata," which is an X-shaped cross, alao known as St Andrews cross. It took several days for Andrew to die and he preached the entire time until his death.
5. Philip. After converting the wife of a proconsul of the city Hierapolis in Greece. Phillip was crucified upside down in 80 AD. Like Andrew he preached from the cross.
6. Matthew. It is said he was killed in Ethiopia defending a girl but the story of Matthew’s death is by tradition of the Catholic church to validate catholicism and it is not credible.
7. Thomas. According to Syrian Christian tradition, the Apostle Thomas was murdered by spear at St. Thomas Mount in Chennai, India in 72 AD. His body was then buried in Mylapore. However, there is no historical evidence of what happened to Thomas after the New Testament, and some extra-biblical traditions claim he was martyred by decapitation.
8. James. He was martyred shortly after preaching the Gospel near the Temple. He was stoned by the crowd and received a death blow from a club.
9. Bartholomew. It is believed that in this area near the Maiden Tower, the apostle Bartholomew was crucified and killed by pagans around 71 AD.
10. Thaddeus. According to tradition, Thaddeus was killed in Beirut, Lebanon in 65 CE along with Simon the Zealot (see below), who is often said to be his preaching partner. He is often shown in Christian art holding an axe which symbolizes that he was decapitated. This comes from a text called the Acts of Simon and Jude.
11. Simon Zelotes. One account says he was cut in half with a saw and another account states he was crucified in 61 AD.
12. Matthias who replaced Judas the Iscariot.
13. Paul. He was beheaded in Rome in 64 AD after being held in a Roman prison.
It it is important to note that only the death of James the brother of John is recorded in the Bible in Acts 12:2.
The Bible does not record the death of Paul but it does mention that Paul expected to be martyred and he was ready to give his life for the testimony of Christ.
While some of the accounts of the apostles death are credible, some of the accounts are by speculation and by church tradition. It can be assured that all the apostles with the exception of the apostle John were indeed martyred for their faith. John is the only apostle that followed Jesus all the way to the cross and it is possible that John is still alive today according to the words of Jesus. Matthew 16:28, John 21:21-24
Note: The 13 apostles is a reflection to the the 12 tribes of Israel, with the tribe of the house of Joseph divided by his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. The two sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim represents the apostle Paul and the apostle Matthias who were chosen to replace Judas the Iscariot. After Judas betrayed Jesus the 11 faithful disciples chose Matthias by lot to replace Judas but God chose Paul.
Paul was chosen to be the apostle to the Gentiles.

The 7 Churches, Revelation 1-3.
1. Ephesus. 2. Smyrna. 3. Pergamos. 4. Thyatira. 5. Sardis. 6. Philadelphia. 7. Laodiceans.
The 7 churches of the book of Revelation represents the church of the last days, as in the prophecy of the last days in chapters 6-22. When the apostle John wrote the book of Revelation there were over 100 churches established in the region. Why wasn't the church of Corinth mentioned, or the church of Thessalonica, the church of Galatia, or the church of Colossae? Why did the 7 churches of Asia represent the church of the last days?
The answer can be found in Revelation 2:13. Asia is the seat of Satan, the red dragon. The Chinese have always worshiped and revered the red dragon. The red dragon is a part of their holiday celebrations. In chapter 12 we see the red dragon makes war with the woman with child representing Christ and his church and in chapters 13 and 17 the Beast and the antiChrist makes war with the saints given power by Satan. Asia and China will play a significant role in the fulfillment of last days prophecy. Satan is defeated, that old dragon and Christ with His church is victorious.
The 7 churches of Asia were located in what is now modern-day Turkey. The 7 churches of Asia were within a day's journey from one another off the coast of Asia across from the isle of Patmos.
